Important Major Silver Auction:
The semi-annual primary silver auction at Heritage Auction House is took place on May 22, 2026 in Dallas, Texas.

Here is quick run-down on the general results of the auction:
George Shiebler Silver Pieces were on fire and sold for very high prices. A Narragansett Style Serving Spoon sold for over $1,000 per troy ounce. Most of the other pieces of Shiebler sold for between $125-$400 per ounce.
Early 19th Century U.S. Coin Silver Hollowware went cheaply. Big coffee and tea pots went for not much more than melt value and some even lower. With silver so high, the demand for these has clearly stayed flat and buyers don't want to pay anymore than they have been.
Georg Jensen Pieces did well. Despite our prediction that with such a massive amount of items all being auctioned at once, the demand is still pretty high for ornate and interesting Georg Jensen silver pieces. Most went for between $125- $200 per troy ounce.
Unusual Serving Pieces are still in strong demand. Anything mixed metal or that was aesthetic flew out the door at pretty high prices. A Cairo by Gorham Serving Spoon sold for $1,000 per troy ounce.
Tiffany is still in strong demand.
Gorham Martele midland pieces are very soft still in the market. It was pitiful how cheap some of these plainer bowls and pieces sold for. A few years ago they sold for $150-$250 an ounce now, just barely above melt value.
Interesting Mexcian Silver is still trending up. There were pieces that only a decade or two ago would only sold at melt are now selling for 30-50% more and that is benchmarked at the now higher price of silver in the $70+ range.
Conclusion: Antique Silver is still in very high demand overall. People are rich right now with the stock market and crypto markets so high and they are buying what they want and willing to pay big $$$$. There might be still some bargains and good buys to be had, but....... they are few and far between. If you see a really really good high end piece of silver right now, be prepared to have a fat wallet. The competition is fierce and supply of the top of the top items is dwindling. It is definitely a sellers market right now in the high end museum quality antique silver market.

Please Sell Your Silver to: The Silver Museum LLC
We know you have many selling options out there even including the auctions. However, never hurts to get more than one opinion on your valuable antique silver items. We also specialize in buying large extensive collections of rare and valuable silver items. Plus, sometimes if you have a collection that includes many smaller items it may not always the most optimal choice and not as worth while in consigning these smaller items to larger auction houses. The larger auction houses are likely not going to feature an item worth only $100-$200 in their printed catalogs.
We will buy all your items including pieces only worth a few dollars on up to larger items worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. We also want it all including your scrap silver pieces. We would love to be your one stop shop in selling all of your silver!
We'll also still take your crumbs if you still decide to consign your better items at auction - LOL. Give us a try, you won't regret it! We've been around for decades and are always fair and competive as well as easy to get along with.
The Silver Museum LLC wants to purchase silver pieces like the ones shown above!
We can often pay more than you would net at auction.
